
Men's Golf to Wrap Up Regular Season in Columbus

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State men's golf team will make the short trip west this weekend to wrap up their regular season at the 52nd Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio State.
The Flashes are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Stitch Intercollegiate last weekend. Bryce Reed finished tied for ninth after posting a team-best score of 220 (74-73-73), putting ten birdies down on the scorecard over the course of the event, the second-most overall. As a team, the Flashes carded 35 birdies, the third-most of the 12 competing teams.
A season ago, Kent State placed second out of 17 teams on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State, tying for their best finish of the season, as a pair of Flashes earned top-ten finished. Chris Vandette (69-69-75) finished second overall while Cade Breitenstine (67-75-76) tied for tenth.
Eighteen teams will make the trek to Columbus this weekend and competitors will play in two waves in both rounds one and two. The Flashes are set to tee off on Hole 1 at 12:50 p.m.
The Flashes will get a chance to see three other Mid-American Conference foes – Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Miami, and Northern Illinois – before next weekend's conference championship at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana.
