
Golden Flashes prepare for contest in Detroit

The Kent State lacrosse team (5-10, 2-2 MAC) travels to Michigan to take on Detroit Mercy (3-11, 2-3 MAC) in a Mid-American Conference matchup on Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes come off a 20-5 loss against No. 20 Colorado on Sunday. Freshman Sydney Davis tied the program individual game record for saves (20). Peyton Gellin recorded her 100th career draw control in the first quarter. Freshmen Megan Klepacki and Eva Anderson scored their first career goals.
Jackie Wolford leads the MAC in goals (52), points (65), and shots (131). Kent State is ranked No. 1 in the MAC for shots percentage (.427) and goals per game (10.93).
About the Titans
On Sunday, Detroit Mercy fell 11-10 to Akron after trailing in every quarter. The Titans led in draw controls (15-11) and shots on goal (21-17). Cat Kopchia is third in the MAC for goals per game (3.21) and points per game (3.57). Maddy Camm leads the team in assist (14), ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (28).
Meredith Leavell ranks No. 3 in the MAC with 9.36 saves per game. Detroit Mercy is first in the MAC for caused turnover per game (7.79) and shots per game (26.57).
Series History
The Flashes currently hold a five-game win streak and are 5-1 overall against the Titans. Last season in Detroit, Kent State won 16-15. On the road, the Flashes secured a 16-15 victory in the past two years.
