The Kent State lacrosse team (5-11, 2-3 MAC) prepares to wrap up the 2024 regular season against Central Michigan (5-11, 5-0 MAC) at Dix Stadium on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
About the Golden Flashes
The Flashes come off a 15-11 loss against Detroit Mercy on Sunday. Emily Bond scored to tie the game 7-7 and recorded a career high of three goals and four points. Zayda Crumpton matched her season high and tied the program record for draw controls (9). Kent State led overall 17-12 in draw controls.
Jackie Wolford continues to lead the Mid-American Conference in goals per game (3.50), points per game (4.44), and shots per game (8.88). Crumpton ranks second in the MAC with 73 draw controls.
About the Chippewas
Central Michigan remains undefeated in the MAC after an 11-7 victory over Akron on Sunday to clinch the MAC No. 1 seed in the Tournament. The Zips led in shots (32-23), and ground balls (17-15) while tying in draw controls (10-10) and caused turnovers (9-9). Sandy Edwards and Skye Deprado both secured hat tricks.
Goalkeeper Alexa Martel is ranked No. 1 in the MAC for saves per game (11.44) and No. 3 in ground balls per game (2.75).
Series History
The Chippewas are 7-1 overall against the Flashes. Last season, Kent State won 17-15 in the regular season matchup and fell 18-7 against Central Michigan in the MAC Championship semifinals.
