LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kent State lacrosse completed their final non-conference tie of 2025 on Wednesday, falling 17-3 at Louisville. Sophomore goalkeeper Syndey Davis set a season-high 14 saves playing all 60 minutes in goal in the contest.
The Flashes (6-8, 1-2) responded to Louisville's opening goal through an impressive effort from distance by Zayda Crumpton, who improved her team-high season goal tally to 31 to make the game 1-1 in the first quarter. Crumpton also led Kent State with two caused turnovers and two ground balls in the tie.
Following the Flashes' opening goal, Louisville took firm control of the contest with 12 unanswered goals. Allie Lee stopped the Cardinals' dominant run, finding the back of the net for the seventh time this season with one minute remaining in the third quarter. Lee assisted Kent State's third and final goal of the day as Lizzie Lundeen found her way onto the scoresheet for the eighth time in the last nine games. Lundeen boosts her season goal-scoring tally to 27, second-best on the team.
After hitting 100 career draw controls in the team's previous outing at Akron, Sidney Dering led the Flashes on Wednesday with four draw controls. Freshman defender Anna Zucconi also had two ground balls for Kent State.
The Flashes return to Dix Stadium on Sunday, April 13, with a three-game road stand now in the rearview. The team hosts Eastern Michigan in a crucial MAC clash, with opening draw set for 1 p.m.
