
Flashes Visit Central Michigan for Wednesday Morning Matchup

The Kent State women's basketball team will visit Central Michigan on Wednesday for the first of two Mid-American Conference games on the road this week. The Chippewas' annual Hoops For Hunger contest will tip at 11 a.m.
After playing one of the best 20-minute stretches of the season to lead by 11 at halftime, the Golden Flashes (5-9, 0-3 MAC) fell to visiting UMass, 75-70, on Saturday. Kent State posted season-best totals for points in the paint (44), second chance points (24) and bench points (33) in the setback. Mya Babbitt led the Flashes in scoring with 20 points, while Emory Klatt added 12 points and game-high 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the leading scorer for the season at 15.0 points per game and has two of the top four single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is tied for third in the conference with 28 three-point field goals and adds 4.6 rebounds per contest. Juniors Janae Tyler (10.5 ppg) and Riley Rismiller (8.1 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has three double-doubles and ranks eighth in the MAC in rebounding with 7.4 per game. Senior Dionna Gray (4.5 ppg) is sixth in the MAC in assists with 4.6 per game.
Scouting Central Michigan
The Chippewas (8-5, 2-1 MAC) went on the road beat Bowling Green, 68-56, on Saturday. Central Michigan is 4-1 at home this season and has outscored its opponents 198-135 during the third and fourth quarters of those games.
Guard Madi Morson ranks second in the conference in scoring at 16.8 points per game and is averaging 23.7 points over the past three contests. Forward Ayanna-Sarai Darrington (13.7 ppg) and guard Taylor Anderson (5.5 ppg) average 7.5 rebounds per game each to help the Chippewas ranks second in the MAC in rebounding margin (+7.8).
