Kent, OHIO - The Flashes head south for their biggest test of the early season on Wednesday as they take on the Louisville Cardinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference at 12 P.M.
Last Time Out
The Kent State Lacrosse team turned in a big offensive performance in their home-opener at Dix Stadium on Saturday for a 17-9 Valentine's Day win over Mercyhurst. The win gave Coach Tierney and company their first 2-0 start in program history.
The Lakers opened up the scoring first with two goals in the first three minutes. Senior Riley Floyd opened up the scoring a few minutes later to get the Flashes rolling as they would then score five of the next eight goals to take a lead heading into the second quarter.Â
A dominant second frame for the Flashes gave them a 12-6 cushion into halftime as Senior Zayda Crumpton paced the Flashes with two goals in that span. After a 5-1 third quarter in favor of the Blue and Gold, the Lakers scored the final two goals in the fourth quarter to bring the score to 17-9 where it would remain as the final.
Lizzie Lundeen and Crumpton finished with identical scoring outputs in their first game of the season as Lundeen produced five goals and Crumpton had five points off of three goals and two assists.Â
Morgan Halli and Floyd contributed three goals each while Meghan Haddow also had two goals and an assist. Katlyn Binnix dished out three assists in the win.
