
Women’s Basketball to Host Chippewas for Alumnae Day

The Kent State women's basketball team will be back in action at the M.A.C. Center for Alumnae Day on Saturday and hosts Central Michigan at 1 p.m. The 2025 Varsity K Hall of Fame class, which include 2017 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Larissa Lurken, will be recognized during halftime.
The Golden Flashes (13-14, 7-8 MAC) look to bounce back from a 66-56 loss at UMass on Wednesday. Kent State won the turnover battle by six but shot 25.8-percent from the floor. Mya Babbitt was the lone scorer to reach double-digits and finished with 11 points. Emory Klatt added nine points and 14 rebounds, the most by a Flash this season.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the third leading scorer in the MAC at 16.5 points per game and is the only player in the league with three performances of at least 28 points. Babbitt is fourth in the conference with 57 three-point field goals. Junior Riley Rismiller (8.7 ppg), senior Tatiana Thomas (7.4 ppg) and sophomore Emory Klatt (6.4 ppg) provide low post options. Senior Dionna Gray (5.8 ppg) is fourth in the MAC and 35th in the nation in assists with 5.1 per game.
Scouting Central Michigan
The Chippewas (17-10, 11-3 MAC) beat Toledo, 68-64, on Wednesday and will be playing their final road game of the regular season. Central Michigan ranks ninth nationally with plus-10.2 rebounding margin.
Guard Madi Morson is the MAC's top scorer at 19.4 points per game, which puts her 21st in the country. Forward Ayanna-Sarai Darrington is eighth in the conference in both scoring (14.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg) while shooting a MAC-best 58.2-percent from the field. Guard Taylor Anderson (5.7 ppg) ranks third in the league with an average of 9.4 rebounds per contest.
