
Women’s Basketball Continues Home Stand Wednesday Against Bowling Green

Kent State will host Bowling Green on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for the second of three games over a seven-day span at the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (9-12, 4-6 MAC) dropped their second game in a row on Sunday, falling in a 101-91 shootout to Ball State in a contest that was broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network. The Cardinals used their size advantage to lead 50-26 in paint scoring and 41-30 in rebounding. Mya Babbitt scored a team-high 28 points and knocked down four triples, as Kent State made 10 three-pointers against a Division I opponent for the first time this season. Dionna Gray added a career-high 23 points and led the Flashes with nine rebounds and nine assists. Caitlyn Holmes has her best performance in a Kent State uniform with career-highs in points (11) and steals (4).
Junior Mya Babbitt is the fourth leading scorer in the MAC at 16.5 points per game and has three of the top seven single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is second in the conference with 48 three-point field goals. Juniors Riley Rismiller (8.8 ppg) and Tatiana Thomas (7.1 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has three double-doubles and ranks ninth in the MAC in rebounding with 6.0 per game, while Thomas is grabbing 5.7 boards per conference contest. Senior Dionna Gray (6.3 ppg) is fourth in the MAC in assists with 5.4 per game.
Scouting Bowling Green
The Falcons (11-10, 4-6 MAC) have lost four of their last five and been held under 50 points twice during the stretch. After entering conference play as the highest scoring team in the MAC, Bowling Green has struggled and ranks 10th and 11th, respectively, in scoring (63.0 ppg) and field goal percentage (.382) in league-only contests.
Guard Paige Kohler averages a team-high 13.9 points per game and is second on the team with 3.3 assists per contests. Guard Johnea Donahue is second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg) in addition to being among the most dangerous perimeter defenders in the country. Donahue ins third in the national rankings with 4.2 steals per game. Forward Lauren Gerken (8.3 ppg) has increased her offensive role and is averaging 10.7 points during league play.
