ST. CHARLES, MO - The Kent State Lacrosse team will get their 2026 season underway on Friday with a trip to Missouri to take on Lindenwood University at 3 P.M. EST.
The Team
Head Coach Brianne Tierney starts her eighth season at the helm in the program's eighth season as well. In 2025, Kent State finished with a record 6-11 and 1-5 in the Mid-American Conference.Â
The Golden Flashes look to improve in 2026 as they return 28 players from last season including the team's leading scorer in senior Zayda Crumpton, who scored 51 points off of 37 goals and 14 assists as a first-team all-conference selection. The team's top six scorers also return to the field this season.
The Blue and Gold will rely on Crumpton along with the rest of a strong senior class to lead them into the season. Among them at attack is Lizzie Lundeen, who earned a second-team All-MAC nod a year ago after scoring 34 goals.Â
Riley Floyd and Peyton Gellin also come back after scoring 16 and 11 goals respectively. Emily Bond, Camryn Meek(Defense) and Meghan Haddow also look to continue to provide a boost to the team. Junior Morgan Halli returns at attack after netting 22 goals in 2025.
Sophomores Anna Zucconi, Katlyn Binnix and Riley LaVogue look to build on their successful freshman campaigns as Zucconi was named to the conference's All-freshman team last season. Binnix and LaVogue were able to contribute seven and five goals respectively.
KSU also returns their starting goalie from a year ago as Sydney Davis produced 127 saves in net with a 10.62 GAA in 16 games played.
The Flashes also welcome six freshmen to the team in Ashlyn Cawood, Bella White, Rebekah Yoder, Kate Donovan, Ella Jones and Grace Herbert as they will try to provide an impact for the team.Â
Scouting Lindenwood
The Lions finished their 2025 campaign with a 10-6 record, finishing 3-3 in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a trip to the conference semifinals.Â
The Lions return a trio of 40-plus goal scorers from a year ago at attack in Luci Selander, Reese Kreiger, and Alissa DiGiancinto. Selander and Kreiger were named first-team All-ASUN selections a year ago.
Series History
Friday will mark the fourth all-time meeting between Golden Flashes and the Lions as Lindenwood currently holds a 3-0 record over KSU. Last season was the closest meeting between the two as Lindenwood came away with a 14-11 win.

Following a trip to Lindenwood, the Flashes will return to Northeast Ohio for their home-opener on Valentine's Day next Saturday. They will take on Mercyhurst at 1 P.M.
