Kent, OHIO - The Kent State Lacrosse team will continue Mid-American Conference play on Wednesday as they welcome in their rival Akron for an important mid-march conference matchup. The Flashes will take on the Zips starting at 5 P.M. inside Dix Stadium.
Last Time Out
A late surge from the Kent State Lacrosse team fell short on Saturday as the Flashes dropped their Mid-American Conference opener to Eastern Michigan on the road by a score of 12-6.
The EMU offense started off hot as they scored three goals in the first three minutes of the game. As the Flashes defense settled in, the Eagles would score four more in the remaining 27 minutes of the half to take a 7-1 lead heading into the break. Junior Morgan Halli scored the lone goal for the Blue and Gold in the second quarter.
Eastern Michigan scored two more out of the break to take an eight-goal lead, but the Flashes would score the next three to cut the lead to five and keep them in the game. The final goal of that run came from sophomore Riley LaVogue who scored her first goal of the season for KSU. Three of the final five goals were scored by the Eagles to defeat the Flashes by a six-goal margin.
Senior Lizzie Lundeen led Kent State offensively with two goals while LaVogue and senior Zayda Crumpton each had a goal and an assist. Halli and Eva Anderson had the other goals for the Blue and Gold in the loss.
