
Women’s Basketball to Host Western Michigan on Saturday for Senior Day

The Kent State women's basketball team concludes the regular season by hosting Western Michigan on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center. Joy Bergstrom, Dionna Gray, Bianca Juzzo and Tatiana Thomas will be recognized during a Senior Day presentation prior to the game.
The Golden Flashes (14-15, 8-9 MAC) fell to first-place Miami, 71-52, on Wednesday for their first conference loss by more than 10 points. Kent State shot just 32.6-percent from the floor and score the fewest points since November. Corynne Hauser led the team in scoring for the second game in a row and finished with 12 points. Riley Rismiller grabbed eight boards to help the Flashes to a 35-31 rebounding advantage.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the fourth leading scorer in the MAC at 15.8 points per game and is one of two players in the league with three performances of at least 28 points. Babbitt is tied for fourth in the conference with 59 three-point field goals. Redshirt junior Corynne Hauser (9.1 ppg) returned to action in mid-February and has scored at least 12 points in back-to-back games. Junior Riley Rismiller (8.6 ppg), senior Tatiana Thomas (7.2 ppg) and sophomore Emory Klatt (6.3 ppg) provide low post options. Senior Dionna Gray (5.7 ppg) is fourth in the MAC and 39th in the nation in assists with 4.9 per game.
Scouting Western Michigan
The Broncos (9-18, 5-11 MAC) will try to avoid ending their season with a three-game losing streak. Western Michigan has struggled offensively and is last in the MAC in scoring (56.1 ppg) and field goal percentage (.372).
Guard Kailey Starks is the top scorer on the perimeter at 12.5 points per game. Guard Alli Carlson adds 10.3 points per contest while leading the team with 51 three-pointers and an average of 4.1 assists per game. Forward Ariana Wilkes (5.0 ppg) grabs a team-best 5.0 rebounds per game.
