KENT, Ohio - The Kent State Herb Page men's golf team wraps up its regular season Monday at the inaugural Muirfield Shootout, a one-day, 36-hole event hosted by Miami (OH) at The Country Club at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The Shootout is the final tune-up for the Golden Flashes before the Mid-American Conference Championship, May 3-5 at The Club at Holliday Farms in Zionsville, Ind., with each team fielding six golfers and counting the four lowest scores across two rounds of competition on Monday.
A note on the venue: The Country Club at Muirfield Village is the member club located within the Muirfield Village community, separate from Muirfield Village Golf Club - the Jack Nicklaus-designed course that hosts the PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament each spring. The two sit within the same Dublin neighborhood but are distinct clubs.
Kent State enters the Shootout off a tied-for-eighth team finish at the Robert Kepler Invitational, where the Golden Flashes closed at 2-under to share the position with Michigan State and Michigan at the Columbus Country Club.

Curtis enters the Shootout looking to build on a strong showing at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, where the first-year led the Golden Flashes with a tied-for-24th finish at 2-under, posting rounds of 70-75-69 at Bulls Bay Golf Club. Curtis owns a season-low round of 6-under 66, carded during the Canadian Collegiate Invitational in September.
Hogg posted the low final round for the Golden Flashes at the Kepler, carding a 3-under 69 on Sunday to climb 20 spots into a tie for 28th at 1-under 215. Hogg also led the Flashes with a tied-for-19th finish at the Marino Classic at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C., earlier this season.
Leuenhagen led Kent State at the Robert Kepler Invitational in his first team start of the spring, carding rounds of 71-72-70 to finish 19th at 3-under 213 at Columbus Country Club. The first-year highlighted his opening round with an eagle on the par-5, 491-yard eighth hole.
Haynes returns to the traveling lineup for the Shootout after posting a season-best tie for 11th at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in the fall and opening the Hal Williams Collegiate with a 2-under 68 in February. Haynes most recently competed at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, carding rounds of 72-80-71.
Newton closed the Kepler with a 71 to finish 38th at 1-over 217. The fourth-year owns a season-best tie for third at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational hosted by Cleveland State in the fall, where he closed with a 4-under 68.
