Kent, Ohio – The Kent State Herb Page Men's Golf team starts their 2026-27 season in Foot's Bay, Ontario, Canada at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational on Sunday.
The tournament is a three-day 54-hole event at Oviinbyrd Golf Course featuring five power conference schools, seven mid-majors, and a school from British Columbia, Canada. Although the tournament is 415 miles north from Kent, the Golden Flashes have been designated as the host school.

Notes:
- Kent State finished 6th out of 11 teams in last year's Canadian Collegiate Invitational with an even score through three rounds. Penn State and British Columbia Okanagan were defeated by KSU in last year's tournament and will be returning for this year's event.
- Notre Dame is the tournament's defending champions with a -35 team performance last year. Missouri, Rutgers and UNCW are other returning teams who finished higher than the Golden Flashes last season.
- Alec Yap comes into the tournament winning both preseason intrasquad qualifiers for the Golden Flashes. The sophomore from Hope Island, Australia is an Eastern Arizona College transfer, winning two NJCAA tournaments last year and ranking as high as 23rd nationally in the community college ranks.
- Nolan Haynes finished 18th with a par in the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Invitational, the highest placement of the current team's lineup. Isaiah Ibit finished 3rd for the Golden Flashes last year with a -12, but won't be competing in the first tournament this season.
