Women’s Basketball Begins Road Trip Monday at St. Bonaventure

Following a break for final exams, Kent State will return to action with a 7 p.m. tip on Monday, Dec. 17 at St. Bonaventure. This will be the third of a four-game road swing for the Golden Flashes, which split contests at Wright State and Robert Morris to begin the stretch.
Kent State defeated Robert Morris, 54-46, its last time out on Dec. 7 for the first road victory of the season. The Flashes rallied from an eight-point first-half deficit despite a 3-for-23 shooting performance over the first 20 minutes. Alexa Golden scored all of her team-high 11 points after halftime and put the Flashes ahead for the first time with a putback and three-pointer on the first two possessions of the third period. The Flashes were able to stretch the lead 11 and held a 40-32 lead heading into the final quarter. The Colonials were able to get within three points on three occasions with the Flashes having an answer each time. half. Lindsey Thall scored nine points and Merissa Barber-Smith led the rebounding effort with 11, which included a pair of key putbacks down the stretch.

Carter also leads the Flashes in assists (3.0 apg) and is third in rebounding (5.0 rpg). Freshman Asiah Dingle (11.4 ppg) has provided a scoring threat at the point guard position. Forward Lindsey Thall (9.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg) leads Kent State with 12 three-pointers to go with 10 blocks. Center Merissa Barber-Smith is the team's top rebounder at 7.1 per game and has registered a team-high 12 blocked shots. Guard Alexa Golden (6.0 ppg) has a team-high 15 steals.
Scouting St. Bonaventure
St. Bonaventure (3-7) has lost four of its last five games and is 0-2 against Mid-American Conference schools with losses to Akron and Ohio. The Bonnies have played are 2-2 at the Reilly Center, where the offense has played much better this season. St. Bonaventure averages 69.8 points per game and shoots better than 40-percent from beyond the three-point arc at home. The Bonnies have averaged 83.3 points in their three wins but have failed to score more than 65 points in any of their seven losses.
Guard Asianae Johnson averages a team-high 11.3 points per game and ranks second in scoring among Atlantic 10 freshmen. Guard Mckenna Maycock has made an impact in her four games played with averages of 10.5 points, 5.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. Guards Dajah Logan (10.0 ppg), Deja Francis (9.8 ppg) and Danielle Migliore (8.8 ppg) provide the Bonnies with perimeter depth. Migliore is a three-point sniper with a team-high 22 trifectas and has shot 9-of-13 from long range over the past three games. Forward Amanda Oliver is the team's top rebounder (6.3 rpg).
