
Kent State Sweeps Discus Throw Titles at Northeast Ohio Quad

AKRON, Ohio —Kent State claimed titles in both the men's and women's discus throw as the Northeast Ohio Quad concluded with throwing events on Saturday at Lee R. Jackson Field.
Trevor Detillion unleashed the fifth-furthest mark in Golden Flashes history with a throw of 185'-8" to claim his sixth discus title in the past two seasons. Detillion dominated the event with all five of his legal throws going further than any other competitor's top throw.
In the women's discus, Gabby Bailey earned her first collegiate victory with a throw of 168'-3". Bailey's impressive day also included a runner-up finish in the shot put. Her top mark of 51'-1.75" puts her ninth in the Kent State outdoor record book.
Bradley Heck and Ryan Demaline added second-place finishes for the Flashes. Heck recorded a personal-best throw of 189'-8" in the men's javelin throw, while Demaline improved on his performance from a week ago with a top throw of 55'-5.5" in the men's shot put.
Jake Wickey had a top mark of 196'-5" to place third in the men's hammer throw.
Grace Tennant placed fourth in both of her events on the day. Tennant threw 152'-3" in the women's discus and 50'-6.25" in the women's shot put.
The Golden Flashes will next head to the Tennessee Relays, which will be held April 11-13 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
