Golden Flashes End Road Trip With Loss to Dolphins

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ The Kent State lacrosse team (1-12) dropped game two of its road trip, 23-4, to Jacksonville (10-2).
The Golden Flashes jumped on top 1-0 less than two minutes into the game on Kelli Bailey's sixth goal of the season with an assist by Megan Kozar. The Dolphins responded with six straight goals before Reagan Russell fired home a goal on an assist from Madison Rapier.
Jacksonville went on to take an 18-2 lead at the break, but the Flashes started the second half with a goal from Megan Kozar. Graceyn Dean added another goal for the Flashes on an assist from Anna Woodhams.
Maddy Mead earned her first career start and led the Flashes with three ground balls. Alyssa Monroe and Carlee Cook each caused two turnovers, while Abby Jones paced Kent State with three draw controls.
Jacksonville was led by Molly Brock (4g), Alyssa Arnold (3g, 2a) and Olivia Alvarez (1g, 4a). Brock led the Dolphins with eight draw controls. In goal for the Dolphins, Danya Martinetto (10-2) led the way with three saves and just two goals allowed.

The Flashes will return home on April 11 to take on Kennesaw State, before a rescheduled matchup with Howard at Dix Stadium on April 14. Kent State will then finish up its season on the road at Central Michigan on April 20 and at home against Liberty on April 24.
