
Flashes Host Cincinnati and Saint Francis

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team will host back-to-back home games on Sunday, March 8 against Cincinnati and Tuesday, March 10 against Saint Francis (Pa.) at Dix Stadium. First draw is set for 3 p.m. both days.
The Golden Flashes were set to host the Bearcats in its season opener on Feb. 7 but due to inclement weather the game was rescheduled for this Sunday.
Season in Review
The Golden Flashes have dropped their first four games of the 2020 season but have improved in each game. Three of their first four games have been away from home.
The youthful Kent State squad is led on offense by sophomore Abby Jones who has 13 points (10g, 3a) on the season. Fellow sophomore Megan Kozar has tallied nine points (7g, 2a).
Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Merrill has started all four games for the Golden Flashes this season and has recorded an ASUN-high 47 saves. Her 11.75 saves per game ranks 11th in the country and her .412 save percentage is fourth in the conference.
Scouting Cincinnati
Cincinnati (1-4) was predicted to finish second in the 2020 AAC Preseason Poll. The Bearcats beat the Golden Flashes in Kent State's inaugural game, 19-8, last season.
The team earned its first win of the 2020 season, defeating Central Michigan 15-14. Alyssa Adams scored a career-high six goals for the Bearcats.
The Bearcats are led by 2019 First Team All-AAC selection Monica Borzillo, who set six single-season school records and finished seventh in the country in points (108) and 10th in the country in assists (47). She leads the team with 16 points (11g, 5a) in 2020. Peyton Mottice has added nine points (5g, 6a) for the Bearcats' offense.
Scouting Saint Francis (Pa.)
The Red Flash defeated the Golden Flashes, 13-9, last season. Merrill posted a career-high 20 saves in the contest.
Saint Francis (Pa.) (1-4) had their lone win of 2020 against first-year program Akron, 12-6. Amanda Heidt recorded a team-high four goals in the triumph.
SFU is led on offense by Emileigh Scott who has recorded 17 points (16g, 1a) this season. Four members of the Red Flash have recorded 10 or more points in 2020, including Heidt who ranks second on the team with 10 goals. ย
The Red Flash deploy a two-goalie approach with Elyssa Enrique and Lindsey Kilian. Enrique has recorded 35 saves on the season with a .467 save percentage, while Kilian has tallied 30 saves with a .471 save percentage.

The Golden Flashes will conclude its four-game homestand with future Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan on Friday, March 13 at 3 p.m. Kent State will then travel to Howard and Delaware State before hosting Akron in a neutral site contest at the U.S. Lacrosse facility in Baltimore, Md.
