KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team (4-8, 3-4 MAC) hosts Youngstown State (1-6, 1-6 MAC) looking to sweep the season series against their Northeast Ohio counterparts.
The Golden Flashes are looking to extend their program-record win total. The four wins on the season are double what the team has won in either of its previous two seasons.
Jackie Wolford has been on fire on the offensive end, recording all 17 of her goals this season in the past seven games. After not scoring in the first five games of the season, Wolford has been a much-needed spark for the Kent State attack. In her latest performance, she tallied a career-high in points (7), goals (5), and assists (2).
Along with Wolford, Kenzie Sklar has stepped up recently. With leading goal scorer Madison Rapier sidelined, Sklar has scored seven goals in the last two games. Her seven points, including five goals against Detroit Mercy are both career highs for the sophomore.
Graceyn Dean continues to dominate on the defensive end after spending two seasons as an attacker. The switch by Head Coach Brianne Tierney has proven to be successful, as Dean has already tied the program record for caused turnovers in a single season in just eight starts. Her 16 caused turnovers rank third in the Mid-American Conference.
