KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team (4-9, 3-5 MAC) fell to Youngstown State (2-6, 2-6 MAC) this afternoon despite Abby Jones' record performance.
Jones, Kent State's all-time leading goal scorer, added another accolade to her accomplishments against YSU. She tied the program record with seven goals in a single game. The record ties her teammate, Megan Kozar, who scored seven goals against Detroit Mercy in 2019.
Jones added an assist on the afternoon, finishing the day with a career-high eight points. The eight points break the Kent State record for most points in a single game.
Graceyn Dean also broke a program record with her 18th caused turnover of the season. She now has the most caused turnovers in a single season in just nine career starts as a defender.
The Flashes could not overcome the balanced YSU attack that saw eight different players score multiple goals.
