Flashes Fall to CMU in Road Finale

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Kent State lacrosse team (4-10, 3-6 MAC) was defeated by Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan (7-6, 5-2 MAC) on Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman Katie Pettine was the star of the day for the Golden Flashes, recording a career-high four goals. She becomes the fifth player to record four or more goals in a single game this season.
Jackie Wolford added to her season total with two goals. She now has cemented herself at third on the team with 22 goals. Abby Jones, Megan Kozar and Morgan Kubicki each recorded one goal in the loss.
Jones and Lily Miller each recorded two caused turnovers to lead the Flashes.
Goalkeeper Madison Flannigan was extremely busy in net, recording a program-record 20 saves. Despite the loss, she posted an impressive .513 save percentage on 39 CMU shots on goal.

The Golden Flashes concluded the road portion of their 2021 schedule and will regroup before hosting Detroit Mercy on Saturday, May 1, on Senior Day at Dix Stadium. Emily Speckman and Carlee Cook will be the senior honorees for the Flashes.
