
Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season Contests this week

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team (8-7, 5-1 MAC) will travel to take on Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, April 26 at 5 p.m. and return home for a matchup against Youngstown State on Saturday, April 29 at 1 p.m. Â
About the Flashes
With a 19-6 victory over Akron last Wednesday, Kent State swept the Zips for the first time in program history. The Golden Flashes also recorded their first win over Central Michigan, 17-15, in program history to move into a tie for first place in the Mid-American Conference standings.
Jackie Wolford was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row. She recorded 10 goals, four assists, and 14 points between the two contests. She is currently ranked No. 1 in the MAC for goals (56) and points (69) per game.
Kenzie Sklar recorded her 100th career goal and accomplished a Kent State single-game record of eight goals.
Morgan Kubicki broke the single-season record for most assists (21) on Wednesday against Akron and is now Flashes' all-time assists leader with 51. She also leads the MAC in assists (23).
About the Titans
Detroit Mercy (3-9, 2-4 MAC) fell to Youngstown State, 20-8, last Saturday. Leah Bodnar recorded a team-high of four draw controls and Charlotte Dale had a season-high three goals.
Meredith Leavell is ranked No. 2 in the MAC for saves per game (128) and third for save percentage (.472).
About the Penguins
Youngstown State (6-10, 4-3 MAC) lost to Central Michigan, 15-8, on Wednesday. With a 20-8 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday, the Penguins sealed a MAC tournament berth.
Ali Korin recorded her 100th career goal against the Titans. Erin Clark is currently ranked second in the MAC for assists (21).
Series History
The Golden Flashes are 4-1 overall over Detroit Mercy. With their first meeting being Kent State's only loss, the Flashes are on a four-game win streak against the Titans.
Youngstown State leads 1-3 in the series against Kent State. At the first meeting, the Flashes won 19-10 and outshot the Penguins 35-24. Both Sklar and Wolford secured hat tricks.
