Vandette Notches Top Ten Finish at Windon Memorial

Chris Vandette secured his first top ten finish of the 2023 season, tying for 9th at the Windon Memorial.
The 2021-2022 MAC golfer of the year shot a three round score of (68-67-71) to finish seven under par. The redshirt senior finished the weekend with 15 birdies, and tied for a tournament best six under on par 4s.
Jordan Gilkison and Ben MacLean also put themselves in the top 30, with Gilkison tying for 24th at four under and MacLean one stroke behind, tying for 29th. As a team, the Flashes placed 8th out of 15 clubs.
Head Coach Jon Mills noted the bumps of the weekend, but also praised the play of his top two golfers in the tournament.
"We were not very efficient around the greens," said Mills. "It was great to see Chris Vandette play well and Jordan Gilkison battled all week."

Kent State returns to the course this upcoming Sunday and Monday to participate in the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame University.
