Kent State Set to Clash with Ohio Bobcats on Friday Night

KENT, Ohio – Kent State Men's Basketball (16-8) welcomes Ohio University to the M.A.C. Center on Friday night. Tipoff between the Golden Flashes and Bobcats is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.

On Tuesday, Feb. 11 Kent State defeated Central Michigan by a final score of 91-83. Marquis Barnett tallied a new career and Kent State high leading the squad with 28 points. His previous high at Presbyterian was 26 and his season high at Kent State was 15. This was his second time leading the Flashes in scoring this season. VonCameron Davis recorded double-digit game number 53 on his career scoring 21. It was his sixth time doing so this season. Delrecco Gillespie grabbed 14 rebounds leading the blue and gold for the third consecutive game. It is his second highest total this year. Cian Medley led the Kent State in assists with seven while dropping 11 points. Jalen Sullinger continued his scoring ways with 19. He hit his 50th three-pointer of the season in the game.

Ohio enters with a record of 13-11 overall and a record of 7-4 in the MAC. Most recently they bested Bowling Green 86-81 on Feb. 11. Head Coach Jeff Boals is in year six at the helm of the Bobcats program entering this matchup against Kent State with an overall record of 111-71. Kent State's overall record against Ohio is 61-101, holding a 38-37 record against the Bobcats in Kent, a 14-59 record against them in Athens, and a 6-5 record in neutral locations. Ohio won the most recent meeting last month in Athens on Jan. 24 by a final score of 61-59.
