KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team returns to action on Tuesday afternoon as they head to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, to take on Bucknell at 3 p.m. It's a quick turnaround for the Flashes, who wrapped up a two-game homestand at 1-1 with a 15-4 loss to Cincinnati on Sunday.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Kent State enters Tuesday's game at 2-2 on the season after splitting a pair of matchups over the weekend. Last Thursday, the Flashes hosted Presbyterian for their first scheduled home game of the season, although it was played at Stile Fieldhouse in Akron due to inclement weather. Kent State posted a 15-5 win over the Blue Hose, highlighted by Lizzie Lundeen's second five-goal performance of the season and multi-goal games by Morgan Halli, Peyton Gellin, and Riley Floyd. Haleigh Greenberg added a behind-the-back goal and two assists for the Flashes. Sydney Davis tallied six saves while playing all 60 minutes in goal during the win. The Flashes concluded the weekend by welcoming Cincinnati to Dix Stadium on Sunday in a game that was won 15-4 by the Bearcats. Halli, Greenberg, and Floyd each found the scoresheet for the second time of the weekend, while Emily Bond contributed her second goal of the season.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
The Bison currently holds a 1-2 record in 2025. Their lone 9-8 win over Rider is sandwiched between a season-opening 16-4 loss at no. 22 Penn State to open the season and a 16-11 home defeat to Villanova in their most recent contest. For their performances in the games against Rider and Villanova, Bucknell had two players earn Patriot League weekly honors. Junior defender Jess Leon was selected as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, with season tallies of eight caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Freshman attacker Kat Reynolds earned the Patriot League Rookie of the Week award after scoring her first collegiate goal against Rider and her first hat trick against Villanova.
