
Flashes Head to Radford for Wednesday Afternoon Duel

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team hits the road on Wednesday as they head to Virginia to face Radford in the team's final game before MAC conference action begins this weekend. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. tomorrow in Radford.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Kent State fell to 3-5 on the season with a 14-7 loss to ACC opponent California at Dix Stadium on Sunday. Before that, the Flashes opened the weekend with a 10-6 victory over St. Francis on Friday. Junior midfielder Zayda Crumpton reached 100 career points in the fourth quarter of Friday evening's win, recording four goals and an assist in the game, before adding to her total with a goal and two assists against California. She is currently second on the team with 16 goals this season and boasts a team-high eight assists. Junior attacker Lizzie Lundeen scored a hat trick against St. Francis and added a goal against California to improve her team-leading goal count to 17 this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Davis reached 100 career saves in the first quarter of Friday's win over the Red Flash. She boasts a 3-3 record on the year and has tallied 35 saves to date. Senior midfielder Sidney Dering currently sits at 92 career draw controls, having recorded 22 this season, and will look to reach the 100 mark in the near future. Sophomore defender Allie Bradley tallied four ground balls across two games last weekend to improve her season total to 13, the most among Kent State field players.
SCOUTING RADFORD
The Highlanders enter Wednesday's game at 2-4 on the season, recording dominant wins of 18-3 over Delaware State and 19-9 over Howard. Radford has faced two common opponents to the Flashes this season, falling 16-11 in their opener to George Mason, who the Flashes defeated 13-9, and suffering an 18-1 defeat to George Washington, a team Kent State fell to 13-6 on opening weekend. Radford has a balanced offensive attack thus far, with five players currently at ten or 11 total points for the season.ย

Wednesday will be the first ever matchup between Radford and Kent State in women's lacrosse.
