Flashes Set to Open MAC Play at Central Michigan on Sunday

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team heads to Central Michigan on Sunday for the team's inaugural MAC game of 2025. Opening draw is set for noon on Sunday at the CMU Lacrosse Complex.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Kent State opens conference play with a 4-5 overall record after a dominant road win at Radford on Wednesday. The Flashes claimed a 20-9 win in Virginia thanks to their highest goalscoring effort of the season thus far. Zayda Crumpton's five points in the contest were the most on Kent State, as she tallied two goals and three assists to bring her team-high season point total to 29. Crumpton also had ten draw controls in the win to lead the Flashes, adding to her team-high season tally of 43. Lizzie Lundeen led the Flashes with four goals in the contest to improve her team-leading season total to 21. Riley Floyd scored a hat trick and added an assist while Morgan Halli scored two and assisted two to round out three Flashes who tallied four points against Radford. Defensively, Peyton Gellin was important for Kent State as she caused a team-high three turnovers against Radford. In goal against the Highlanders, Sydney Davis was awarded her fourth win of the season as she allowed just one goal in 25 minutes of action.
SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas sit at 1-6 overall ahead of conference play, recording their first win of the season on Wednesday at Canisius, 14-13, after starting the season with six consecutive losses. Senior attacker Sadie Hinkle leads Central Michigan with 12 points and four assists this season. She is one goal behind Skye DePrado, who leads the team with nine goals. Senior defender Jozy Allen leads the team with an impressive 44 draw controls, 17 ground balls, and 10 caused turnovers.ย
SERIES HISTORY
Central Michigan leads the all-time series with the Flashes 7-2. Kent State has won two of the last three matchups between the teams, including the most recent contest between the schools; a 15-9 win at Dix Stadium in last season's finale.
