Kent State (6-6, 1-1) resumes MAC play on Sunday flying high after a dominant 14-8 midweek victory at Mercyhurst, a game in which the Flashes held a 13-1 lead at one point. Three players scored hat tricks for Kent State, led by a five-goal effort from Zayda Crumpton, who now leads the team with 27 goals and 11 assists this season. Morgan Halli and Riley Floyd were the other two Flashes to each add a trifecta of goals, while Allie Lee tallied one goal and two assists. Eva Anderson scored her first goal of the season against the Lakers and Meghan Haddow wrapped up the scoring with her third goal of the 2025 campaign. Crumpton also led the Flashes with seven draw controls, followed closely by four draw controls from Sidney Dering, who had an impressive all-around performance with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Dering is just one draw control away from the century mark in her collegiate career. Akron's last two games were matchups with the Flashes' first two conference opponents, as they defeated Central Michigan 9-7 at home two weeks ago, before heading North to fall 10-8 at Detroit Mercy. The Zips' other conference win came on March 16 against Youngstown State, by a score of 14-13. Akron's attack this season has been led by sophomore attacker Sienna Hinchcliffe, who has a team-high 36 goals.
