
Louisville Up Next for Kent State Lacrosse

KENT, Ohio – Kent State lacrosse returns to action on Wednesday with the team's final non-conference game of the season at Louisville. Opening draw against the Cardinals of the ACC is set for noon.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Kent State (6-7, 1-2) fell at rival Akron 14-9 on Sunday afternoon in the team's third conference contest of the season. Goalkeeper Syndey Davis posted her third double-digit save performance in the last four games with 11 saves to keep the Flashes within touching distance. Davis holds the second-best goals-against average in the MAC at 10.14. Zayda Crumpton tallied her third consecutive hat trick against the Zips with three goals and an assist, improving her team-high season totals to 30 goals and 12 assists. Morgan Halli and Lizzie Lundeen each tallied two goals against Akron, bringing their season totals to 26 and 18 goals respectively to round out the top three scorers on the team. Senior midfielder Sidney Dering surpassed a significant milestone in Sunday's game, recording her 100th career draw control in the first quarter of the contest. She concluded the rivalry game with four draw controls and a team-high two caused turnovers. Dering now has 33 draw controls in 2025, trailing only Crumpton who added to her season total of 66 draw controls with a team-high seven on Sunday. Â Entering Wednesday's final non-conference tilt of 2025, the Flashes possess a 5-5 record outside of conference action, seeking a winning non-conference record for the first time in program history.
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
The Cardinals enter Wednesday's game with a 6-8 record on the season, 1-6 in ACC action. Louisville's last outing was a 17-3 defeat at no. 9 Virginia, the Cardinals' sixth ranked opponent of the 2025 season. In their most recent home contest, Louisville defeated Liberty 12-10 on April 1. The Cardinals have a balanced attack, with six players currently boasting double-digit point totals on the season. Reese Whiteman leads the team with 22 goals while Rian Adkins and Maggie McMahon have a joint team-high eight assists. Defensively, Cate Kangas and Ashley Osborne lead the Cardinals with 20 and 14 caused turnovers each, while J Pleck has played the majority of the minutes in net this season, tallying 123 saves and a 12.24 goals-against average.
