
Track and Field Teams Ready to Collect Hardware at MAC Outdoor Championships

Kent State will compete at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Ohio University's Goldsberry Track
Competition will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday and will conclude shortly before an awards ceremony on Saturday at 5 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE MEN
The Golden Flashes are the top-ranked team in the conference at No. 9 in the Great Lakes Region of the latest USTFCCCA Regional TFRI.
Ayden Bath and Jaheim Jones seek to repeat as event winners. Bath is the favorite in the decathlon with a score of 7,466 that ranks 26th nationally and will also compete in the 110-meter hurdles and high jump. Jones enters as the favorite in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash and will also look to help the 4x100-meter relay team capture gold for the fifth consecutive year.
Alexandre Malanda and Nicolas Saviron are the two top-ranked competitors in the triple jump. Malanda ranks seventh in the country with a mark of 52'-8.75" and seeks his second outdoor title in the past three years.
In the 110m hurdles, Zamen Siyoum is the favorite with a personal-best time of 13.99 seconds. Amare Hall is the top-ranked athlete in the long jump with a PR of 24'-6.5".
Sean Callahan Jr. (100m, 200m), Zane Cattage (high jump), Joel Enander (decathlon vault), Beau Harkelroad (400m hurdles) and Payton Shippee (javelin throw) are all ranked in the top three in their events and should challenge for medals.
PREVIEWING THE WOMEN
The Golden Flashes will attempt to win back-to-back outdoor conference titles for the first time since capturing five straight from 2010-14.
Amryne Chilton won gold in the 200-meter dash a year ago and will also attempt to reach the podium in the 100-meter dash and both relay races.
Keeli Dunaway is the favorite in the triple jump with a new personal-best of 41'-11.5" at the season-opener in late March.
Kristen Jay and Aliesha Shaw lead the way in the throwing events. Jay is ranked first in the javelin throw with a mark of 156' that is 10 feet further than the next ranked competitor. Shaw ranks second in the discus throw and third in the shot put.
Svenia De Coninck will be busy and is entered in four events. De Coninck ranks second in the heptathlon and third in the high jump.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
Kent State athletes who rank in the top-48 in the region will compete at the NCAA East Preliminary in Jacksonville, Florida from May 28-31.
