Kent State welcomed in Florida State of the ACC to Dix Stadium for non-conference action on Tuesday morning in the inaugural season for the Seminoles. A fast start for the road team gave Florida State momentum to defeat the Golden Flashes by a score of 14-5.
FSU got off to a hot start as they scored their first five goals of the game in a span of six minutes. The Flashes then settled in defensively and would score two goals in the first quarter from senior Zayda Crumpton and a buzzer-beating goal at the end of the half from senior attacker Lizzie Lundeen to bring the score to 8-3 in favor of Florida State heading into the second half.
In the third quarter, senior Emily Bond scored her second goal of the season from long-range, but FSU would answer with five straight goals followed by a goal from KSU junior attacker Morgan Halli to bring the score to where it would remain final at 14-5.
