
Flashes Offense Finds A Groove In 15-7 Win Over Detroit Mercy

Detroit, MICH - The Kent State Lacrosse team turned in an impressive outing in the Motor City on Sunday in an important Mid-American Conference contest against Detroit Mercy. The Blue and Gold started off hot and never looked back in a 15-7 win over the Titans.
Kent State scored early and often in the first quarter starting out with six goals in the first fifteen minutes. Junior Morgan Halli got on the board first for KSU, scoring a goal in the first 27 seconds of the game.Â
She scored another in the first and one in the second to head into the halftime break with a hat-trick along with her teammate, senior Lizzie Lundeen who had one goal in the first and two in the second to help the offense get out to a 11-4 lead after 30 minutes of play.
The Golden Flashes kept up the scoring in the second half with three goals in the third and one in the fourth. Sophomore Kenzie Gash scored the first goal of her career in the final frame. The defense also remained consistent in the last two quarters, giving up just three goals in that span.
Halli led the blue and gold with five points coming off of four goals and one assist. Lundeen and senior Zayda Crumpton each contributed three goals and one assist, while Crumpton had four draw controls. Junior Eva Anderson also finished the game with a pair of goals.
Meghan Haddow, Riley Floyd, Josie Wallace and Anna Zucconi each finished with a pair of ground balls. Junior Goalkeeper Sydney Davis also contributed four saves in the win.

The Flashes(7-7; 2-3) get back to .500 and will finish up non-conference play on Wednesday against Ohio State before finishing out the season with two big MAC games. The first draw in Columbus is set to begin at 3 P.M.
