
Flashes Gear Up For Final Non-Conference Test With Trip To Ohio State

Columbus, OHIO- Kent State will head down to Ohio's state capital to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Wednesday for a 3 P.M start in the last non-conference game of the season for the Golden Flashes.Â
Last Time Out
The Kent State Lacrosse team turned in an impressive outing in the Motor City on Sunday in an important Mid-American Conference contest against Detroit Mercy. The Blue and Gold started off hot and never looked back in a 15-7 win over the Titans.
Kent State scored early and often in the first quarter starting out with six goals in the first fifteen minutes. Junior Morgan Halli got on the board first for KSU, scoring a goal in the first 27 seconds of the game.Â
She scored another in the first and one in the second to head into the halftime break with a hat-trick along with her teammate, senior Lizzie Lundeen who had one goal in the first and two in the second to help the offense get out to a 11-4 lead after 30 minutes of play.
The Golden Flashes kept up the scoring in the second half with three goals in the third and one in the fourth. Sophomore Kenzie Gash scored the first goal of her career in the final frame. The defense also remained consistent in the last two quarters, giving up just three goals in that span.
Halli led the blue and gold with five points coming off of four goals and one assist. Lundeen and senior Zayda Crumpton each contributed three goals and one assist, while Crumpton had four draw controls. Junior Eva Anderson also finished the game with a pair of goals.
Meghan Haddow, Riley Floyd, Josie Wallace and Anna Zucconi each finished with a pair of ground balls. Junior Goalkeeper Sydney Davis also contributed four saves in the win.
Scouting Ohio State
The Buckeyes come in with an 8-6 overall record and 3-4 in the Big Ten. That most recently includes a double-overtime conference victory over USC by a score of 11-10. Ohio State has four common opponents with the Flashes this season with wins over Cincinnati, Louisville, Detroit Mercy and Robert Morris.
The duo of senior Camryn Callaghan and junior Kate Tyack lead OSU offensively with 39 and 33 goals respectively. Both are in the Top 12 in the Big Ten in scoring. Tyack also leads the team with 23 assists to amount for 56 total points in 2026. Sophomore Maddy Paz is also a name to watch for with 19 goals and 17 assists this season.
Leading the Buckeyes defensively will be junior Audrey Schoemer who has 15 caused turnovers this season. Jocelyn Torres leads the team in ground balls with 27 while Kampbell Stone is first on the team in Draw Controls with 32.
Series History
Sunday's meeting will be the third all-time between the Buckeyes and the Golden Flashes. Ohio State currently leads the series 2-0 as they most recently defeated KSU by a score of 17-6 back in 2024.
Up Next
After the final non-conference contest of the season for the Blue and Gold, they will head back to Dix Stadium for the final home game of 2026. The Flashes will take on Central Michigan for a 1 P.M. start on Saturday.
