Flashes Drop Home Opener to Butler

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team (0-4) lost its home opener to Butler (3-1) on Friday afternoon, 18-9, at Dix Stadium.
Sophomores Abby Jones and Eva Nikolai led the Flashes with two goals each with Jones adding an assist. It was Jones' third game this season with at least three points.
Five other Golden Flashes found the back of the net in the loss, including Madison Rapier, Morgan Kubicki, Megan Kozar, Meghan Cawood and Kenzie Sklar.
Cawood led the Flashes with five draw controls, while Jones tallied four. Rapier and sophomore Anna Woodhams each caused two turnovers.
Grace Merrill recorded seven saves.
The Golden Flashes will be back in action next Sunday, March 8 as they take on Cincinnati in a rescheduled contest.
