
Flashes Complete Sweep of Zips with Dominant Performance

AKRON, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team earned its record seventh win with a dominant on 19-6 victory at Akron on Wednesday evening.
With the victory, the Golden Flashes (7-7, 4-1 MAC) have swept the Zips for the first time in program history and earned a full point in the Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge standings, which Kent State now leads 9.5-0.5.
It was a 7-3 game just two minutes into the second quarter before the Flashes scored 10 in a row to bring the running clock into effect.
Kenzie Sklar netted her 100th career goal in the first quarter and finished with a Kent State single-game record with eight scores.
Morgan Kubicki broke the single-season record for most assists (21) in the first quarter and completed the game with three overall. She is now the Flashes' all-time assists leader with 51. She also tied the single-game record for draw controls (9).
Jackie Wolford added four goals and three assists. Zayda Crumpton matched her career-high with three goals and had a team-high three ground balls.
Kent State out shot Akron 28-17. The team led in ground balls (21-13) and draw controls (16-11).
Madison Flannigan saved eight shots and recorded two ground balls to become the Flashes'all-time leader with 77.
Up next, the Golden Flashes return home to take on Central Michigan on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m.
