
Golden Flashes prepare for a pair contests in Delaware

The Kent State lacrosse team (0-2) will take on Delaware State (0-1) on Friday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. and then face off against Delaware (3-1) on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 12 p.m.
About the Golden Flashes
The Golden Flashes are coming off a 13-6 loss against George Mason in the home opener on Saturday. Kent State recorded a team high 22 shots and goalkeeper Taylor Monturo made nine saves. Jackie Wolford and Emily Bond each secured two goals.
Bond, Wolford and Zayda Crumpton are tied for the team lead in goals (3). Kent State is ranked second in the Mid-American Conference with a .433 save percentage.
About the Hornets
Delaware State fell to UMBC, 20-2, in the season opener on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Retrievers led in shots (38-11) and draw controls (19-3).
London Downing is tied leading the team in goals (1) and secured three shots on goal.
About the Blue Hens
Delaware fell, 13-8, to Temple on Wednesday, ending an early undefeated season record. Keira Grant recorded four of the eight goals with seven shots on goal.
The Blue Hens are currently No. 1 in the Coastal Athletic Association standings. Goalkeeper Steph Marszal is ranked second in the conference with 32 saves.
Series History
The Flashes are 2-0 against Delaware State after a 15-5 victory last season at Dix Stadium.
Kent State and Delaware will meet for the first time in program history.
