
Flashes Earn 19-12 Victory over Delaware State

DOVER, Del. - The Kent State lacrosse team (1-2) won 19-12 against Delaware State (0-2) this afternoon.
The Flashes came out strong in the first quarter. Jackie Wolford scored less than a minute into play. Shortly after, Megan Cook scored her first goal of the season. Kent State led 7-4 at the end of the quarter.
Bringing the score 8-5, Allie Lee secured a goal for the Flashes. Kent State out shot the Hornets 20-10 at the half.
Mia DiPerna scored her first career goal in the third quarter, and found the back of the net again to score back-to-back goals.
Wolford notched five goals, six points, and seven shots on goal to currently lead the team. Haleigh Greenberg, Zayda Crumpton, and Allie Lee all recorded hat tricks during the game. Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Davis made her first career appearance with two saves. Leading in draw controls (16-12), ground balls (10-7), and shots (28-25), Kent State won 19-12.
