
Kent State Travels to Bowling Green for Final Road Contest

Kent State begins the final week of the regular season on Wednesday with a road contest at Bowling Green. Tip inside of the Stroh Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Golden Flashes (19-10, 11-5 MAC) have won three in a row and seek 20 wins for the third consecutive season. Kent State was able to overcome a halftime deficit for the second straight game on Saturday to beat Akron, 64-44, and extend its rivalry winning streak to six. The Flashes opened the third quarter with a 17-1 run and led by as many as 25. Sophomore Janae Tyler recorded her first collegiate double-double with 21 points and career-high 12 rebounds. Senior Jenna Batsch knocked down a career-high five three-pointers and also finished with 21 points. Junior Dionna Gray recorded a career-high nine assists for the fourth time in the past nine games.
Preseason All-MAC First Team selection Jenna Batsch (16.5 ppg, 4.0 apg) is the only player in the conference averaging at least 16 points and four assists per game. Bridget Dunn (8.2 ppg) ranks fifth in the nation in defensive rebounding (8.4 drpg) and 29th overall in rebounds per game (9.9). Mya Babbitt (11.9 ppg) leads the MAC with 74 three-pointers and has made 40.9% of attempts from beyond the arc. Janae Tyler (11.6 ppg) has emerged as a consistent inside scoring presence after missing the majority of the non-conference slate of games. Dionna Gray averages 8.3 points and 5.2 assists per game.
Scouting Bowling Green
The Falcons (16-12, 9-7 MAC) have won seven of their last nine and boast a 10-2 home record this season. Bowling Green hit a school-record 18 three-point field goals in its most recent home contest, a 91-61 win over Ohio last Wednesday.
Guard Amy Velasco leads the team with averages of 16.2 points and 4.8 assists per game. Guard Paige Kohler adds 13.3 points per contest and has made 69 three-point field goals, which ranks second in the MAC. Guard Lexi Fleming is averaging 12.5 points per game. Guard Johnea Donahue (7.7 ppg) is the conference steals leader at 2.5 thefts per contest.
