
Women’s Basketball Closes Regular Season with Senior Day Against Toledo on Saturday

The Kent State women's basketball team concludes the regular season at the M.A.C. Center against Toledo on Saturday at 1 p.m. Jenna Batsch, Bridget Dunn, Bianca Juzzo, Lexy Linton, Eléna Maier and Kaley Perkins will be recognized during a Senior Day presentation prior to the game.
The Golden Flashes (19-11, 11-6 MAC) had a three-game winning streak ended in an 84-61 setback at Bowling Green on Wednesday. Led by six three-pointers from Lexi Fleming, the Falcons jumped out to a 30-18 lead at the end of 10 minutes. After falling behind by 23 late in the second period, Kent State went on a 25-11 run to get within single digits before going cold from the floor over the final 12 minutes. Jenna Batsch led the Flashes with 25 points and Tatiana Thomas added 14 points to match her career-high.
Preseason All-MAC First Team selection Jenna Batsch (16.8 ppg, 4.0 apg) has recorded 29 consecutive double-digit scoring performances, which is tied for the fifth longest streak in Division I. Bridget Dunn (8.1 ppg) ranks fifth in the nation in defensive rebounding (8.3 drpg) and 34th overall in rebounds per game (9.7 rpg). Mya Babbitt (11.6 ppg) leads the MAC with 75 three-pointers and has made 41.0% of attempts from beyond the arc. Janae Tyler (11.6 ppg) has emerged as a consistent inside scoring presence after missing the majority of the non-conference slate of games. Dionna Gray averages 8.4 points and 5.0 assists per game.
Scouting Toledo
The Rockets (22-6, 13-4 MAC) won their third game in a row and clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's MAC Tournament on Wednesday with a 79-70 victory at Northern Illinois. Guard/forward Sammi Mikonowicz leads the way with averages of 13.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and is joined in double-digits by guards Kendall Caruthers (11.6 ppg) and Khera Goss (10.9 ppg). Led by guard/forward Nan Garcia (7.8 ppg), center Hannah Noveroske (6.1 ppg) and guard Faith Fedd-Robinson (5.9 ppg), Toledo ranks 25th in the country in bench scoring (25.0 ppg).
